There are hundreds of books, articles, and
opinions regarding the topic of leadership…it is as if the subject
has replaced the old “self-help book” genre. But development in the
area of leadership is important for women, and most materials are
not written
Girls learn to lead in their families, and
within their groups of friends growing up. However, having the
latest toy, or cutest shoes will not get one very far in the Board
Room. This is where communication strategies and skills, along with
well defined character traits are essential for women to develop as
leaders in less frequented venues. Leadership Matters will consider
topics relative to the challenges women encounter in developing as
leaders in the market place, and in other parts of society. Tammy was born in, and lives in, Houston, Texas. She currently works for a national company that offers workflow solutions to corporations as an office administrator, and customer service specialist. Her education includes a B.A. in Business Administration, and an M.A. in Bible and Theology. She plans to eventually complete her Ph.D. in leadership studies.
Tammy began her business career in retail
management, eventually becoming a paralegal working as a private
investigator, and for national law firms. She has also worked in the
insurance industry. Her hobbies include being a major sports
nut/fan, reading, exercising, and writing. She is available as a
speaker for training programs, special events, and retreats.
